This month the Invest Mississauga team travelled to Japan to host representatives of our Japanese business community at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo to celebrate Mississauga’s 50th anniversary and the contribution they’ve made to our city’s economic growth.

The significance of celebrating Mississauga’s anniversary in Japan is  because of the City’s over  40 year sister city friendship with Kariya.  Japan provides unique cultural and educational exchange opportunities for students, businesses and City staff. This partnership also enhances the City’s global reputation and trade. Over 100 Japanese companies now contribute to Mississauga’s local economy.

During their time in Japan, Invest Mississauga also attended Japan IT Week 2024 to better understand Japan’s thriving IT and technology sectors and demonstrate why Mississauga is an ideal location for these innovative businesses to expand.
