To strengthen our Life Sciences Community, the City has developed a Life Sciences Cluster Strategy and Action Plan, which is focused on establishing the City of Mississauga as the premier Canadian destination for the commercialization of life sciences products.

The City of Mississauga’s role is to act as a connector and facilitate interactions that will drive advancements that support the growth of the sector. Mississauga is home to exceptional companies that produce a variety of products for a global clientele from artificial heart valves, diagnostic instruments and test kits, hospital equipment and more.

PointClickCare, a Mississauga-based business that creates innovative cloud-based technology, has been able to partner with regional health care organizations to create a system for seamless coordination of patient records between hospitals and long-term care homes. This Canadian innovation makes it easier for seniors and their families to get the health care they deserve, which is especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic

CAN Health Network.

The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade celebrated the one year anniversary of CAN Health Network. Dr. Dante Morra, Chair, CAN Health Network was joined by Dr. Dan Perri, Medical Information Officer, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton; and Bill Charnetski, Executive Vice President of PointClickCare for a panel discussion that included health care organizations and businesses from across Canada.
